Post-Easter Nutrition

So you ate a metric ton of chocolate yesterday. You're wondering how much damage has this done, and what should you do now? This article will take a look at the effect of a single day of binge eating, and what is likely the best course of action for this week.

1 Pound = 3500 calories On average, you need to have a caloric surplus of 3500 calories to gain one pound of fat. The number of calories in an easter egg varies wildly depending on the egg, and the other stuff that comes in the box. See the image below for some examples. The average for an egg and the other stuff in the box combined is around 1500 calories. This means that there's an upper limit to the amount of fat you could gain on a single day easter egg binge. Unless you ate 3+ eggs and all the stuff in the boxes, you're unlikely to have gained a significant amount of fat, so relax.

The Art of Balance Health is all about balance. One day of chocolate binging isn't bad for you, but doing it regularly would be. So, how do you balance a worse than usual day? By making the rest of this week better than usual. Try to really limit the amount of crap you eat this week, and get out regularly for walks. Training multiple times a week should be a given and a part of your schedule as well.

Summary It takes a lot more than one day of bad eating to get fat, so relax. However, you do need to balance yesterday by making an effort to make this week one of nutritious meals and high activity. Hope you found this helpful and if you have any questions, let me know. In Strength, Cill
